OK, everyone has his story, and then we call it his-tory. Mine goes like this - my name is Raymond Baker (just Ray to friends),  I'm from Wales and proud of it.  In the hectic race we call life, I've been a tinker, a soldier a sailor and clown, a lover, a poet and  fool.   I'm the lost and the found, they just can't keep me down. I'm a dreamer, a weaver, and a teller of tales.

Over twenty years I have spent touring this crazy yet beautiful planet we call home.  I have heard the drums, reverberating through the African bush at midnight, taught English in the squalor of shanty towns, and lorded it with the rich of the Riviera.   During my travels, I always had a burning desire to write, and my head has churned constantly with ideas, scripts and stories. Luckily enough, most of these thoughts and ideas were written down on any scraps of paper I could find. Fifteen years ago, I settled down with my wife to an urban existence and the raising of my children.

Travelling man keeps travelling on
It's a long lonely road

he's travelling down.
Travelling man, your all on your own
With a pack on your back,

and no place to call home.
Travelling man, on you must go
Through the dirt and the dust,

through the wind and the snow.
Till the heat and the cold

makes this young man look old
And the loneliness and pain,

keeps him moving again.

This has proved (as I'm sure most of you know) to be expensive, beautiful, time consuming, pleasurable and in many ways the most challenging task I have known, but With the support of my wife, I have found the time to commit some of my ideas to paper (figuratively speaking of course).
After 12 years of working 80 hours+ a week and still travelling worldwide for the company I worked for, I have finally given up travelling.  I recently sold my house in the mad, rat-race orientated South East England, and returned to my hometown in beautiful Pembrokeshire, West Wales.   I am now Self-employed, repairing a new home and bringing up four children, one of them autistic.
Time for writing is becoming harder, even finding the time to update this site is becoming difficult,  WE CAN BUT TRY.

About my site

Enough about me, let's tell you about my site. Built with Microsoft Front Page, it's taken me bloody ages. As I learn a bit more about writing Websites,  I hope to improve on it, but all suggestions on improvement are welcome. With regard to this site's content, it is all my own work, and it is all copyright. Naturally, if anyone would like to use some of the content, contact me at the E-mail link below.

As I'm so busy just surviving, I have not had the time, or opportunity to promote my work, so I'm looking for a publisher/agent who is interested in my writing and would be willing to represent me.

Anybody wanting to comment, contribute, or just contact me, can fill in my Guest form.
