AllReaders.com is a web site that allows for look up of books and their authors by searching on plot lines and other elements. This might prove useful if you are seeking a particular author or book.

 

Amazon.com Award Winners: lists of winners, plus information on books available

 

Aspire 2 Write with online magazine and their writing community.  This site contains articles, interviews, regular columns, and full writer services.

 

Author Network is a resources for writers, including links, articles, columns, publishing advice and critique service.

 

Author-me is a support group for writers in search of publishers.  They offer on-line works and opportunities to obtain manuscript critiques. There is also a chat room and articles about writing.

 

Author Pages more or less says it all as it provides information and links to information about authors and illustrators.

Bard's Ink are a group of writers with information about writing and writers. Writing-related links, resources, market and guideline information, writer's block, poetry, writer's critique groups.

 

Beginning Writers is as it says, a resource for beginning writers, encouraging them to write and help develop their creativity and writing talent. Archive of articles included.

 

Bella Online Writing is actually Danielle Hollister who writes articles, reviews links and hosts an email newsletter and discussion forum.

 

Big Dog's Grammar is a bare bones guide with self-assessment tests.

 

Bloomsbury Magazine has its own Writers' area devoted to writers, both published and unpublished. It offers practical advice, regular updates from the book business, a calendar of literary dates and links to other sites.

 

Bogcaféen, An excellent authors' links list, with plenty of links to information on the world's great writers.

Coffeehouse for Writers holds free monthly contests, discussion forums, online writing workshops and warm welcome.

Cool Quotes is the place to go if your having problems finding a cool quote of interest.  Cool Quotes are striving to be the best place on the internet to get cool quotes,  With a random quote generator, Quote of the Day feature and a wide range of categories such as:  Famous, Funny, Movie, Inspirational, Friendship, Motivational and love quotes, your bound to find the quote you want!


Content Exchange has a database of writers and their content.  It also features a classified section and  articles for writers and publishers.

 

Courtyard comprises of a bulletin board, email list and links for writers.

 

Eclectic Writer has articles about writing and getting published. A message board and newsletter too.

 

Forward Motion for Writers by full-time novelist Holly Lisle has articles, workshops, a large and thriving free writers' community, publication tips and discussions, free e-books and bi-monthly e-zine.

Guide to Grammar and Style is one of the best reference tools on these issues by  Professor Lynch.

 

Her Corner contains resources, inspiration and support for women who write as a career.

 

Hidden Cave is the place to find things that you knew ought to exist somewhere but you never knew where to look. In the cave, you will find fascinating writings from the classics to new works only recently completed, all presented as eBooks. Net Authors give you an email writers list and a chat room.  Net Author is an educational opportunity for writers who are serious about their craft.

Online Resources for Writers has exactly that and is maintained by The University of Maine Writing Centre.

 

On-Line Grammar is quite useful for fundamentals and does offer some assistance for English as a Second Language.

 

PariSalon4665 Writers Group has good support for authors who wish to be published along, with meetings and message boards.

 

Planet Quill is another writing resource with free articles, services for writers, job markets, promotional tips and writers links.

 

Pulitzer Prizes presented by CJR, the official source. Plus some information on the winners.

 

Published Writer has all you need to know about writing and getting published with top class tips and advice.

Real Literature Literature is an excellent resource site for author biographies and information on authors - our site is the Reader's Ultimate Resource for Published Authors.  You can browse the alphabetical list of authors.  See the Biography picture and read Literary work of the eminent authors by clicking on their name.

 

Resource Central has links and resources for writing. Tips to improve your writing and  library skills, writing style, grammar. It also contains some good fiction and non-fiction resources.

 

Resources for Writers has reviews of books, software and websites about writing. Articles by Roxianne Moore with tips and resources. Also a message board for writers to share ideas and advice.

 

Robin's Nest for Writers - A comprehensive listing of resources for writers, including online writers' workshops and hundreds of links in categories such as Genre Fiction, Markets for writers, newsletters and lists, publishers and agents.

 

Scrawl: The Writer's Asylum provides writing workshops, story critiques, publication and support information, a weekly flash fiction workshops and on-site e-zine publication with  discussion forums.

 

Scribe & Quill is a writer's resource page including articles for writers, writing courses, book reviews, news and information for writers of all genres.

 

Scriptorium holds writing-related creativity exercises and has articles, author interviews, recommended reading lists, writing links, software and a literary glossary.

 

The Business of Writing is a resource site for writers with tons of articles, friendly forums, links, and much more.

 

The Writer's Life - An online interactive writing and resource site. Writing links, paying markets, free eBooks, newsletter, awards.

 

U.K. Authors Describes itself as a resource community for writers, but it's a lot more then that.  Here you can post work to be reviewed, enter the forums or just read some of the excellent article, poems and stories posted by members.


WebLit is a useful guide to literature on the Web, with a good authors' list


Winter blue requires a membership and consists of writing exercises, message board, and chat.

 

Women on Writing caters mainly for female writers, with interviews, helpful articles, poetry, essays, short stories, competitions, and various chat forums.

 

World Writer gives out information on various genres of writing and has links for both fiction and non-fiction writers. Writing services also available.

 

Write Journey is by Sheri Gilbert's and offers resources, hints, tips, glossary and a  forum.

 

Write Craft Writer's Resource Centre does as it says and has news, tips, interviews and articles on the craft of writing.

 

Writers Circles    A directory of over 1,000 UK writers circles, lots of tips, links and details of literary events in the UK.

 

Writer at Work is a free, weekly comic, by Richard Krzemien, for writers and creative people of all ages. The Writer mixes the working world of Dilbert with the absurdity of The Far Side.

 

Writer Gazette is a writing resource with tips, techniques, and motivation to help you improve and promote your writing career.

 

Writers Exchange resources, links, articles, and an ezine.

 

Writers Home contains links to websites of interest to writers, a comprehensive instruction section, book reviews, links to author websites, publisher, and interviews with authors.

 

Writer's Hub is offering articles on how to write better, a forum, links, and a newsletter.

 

Writer's Insite  is an online community and resource for writers. We offer resources, tools and talent that can be used to guide and inspire. Articles, guidelines, contests, courses and links.

 

A Writer's Life is aimed at those beginning a writing career. Full of articles, information, job resources, a newsletter, and classes. A Writers Life would like tohelp you on your way to becoming a published writer.

 

WriteLink  The Writers’ Resource site linking to paying markets, competitions, reference sites, software, and much more!

 

Writers Web is another workshop with a message board and resources for writers.

 

Writing Corner  has resources, event listings, feature articles, newsletters and email lists. A site about the art, craft and business of writing.

 

Writing for Performance gives you an introduction to writing for television, film, radio and the stage. With news, writers wanted ads, and links to research and writing sites.

 

Write Spots provide free forums for writers of all levels/genres, to post work for general comments or in-depth critique. Also: chat, banter threads, archives, resources, and more.

 

Writing-World  has articles and resources. Tips about how to become a better writer, how to get published and find the right writing markets. From Moira Allen.
