Atlantic Monthly is an online magazine addressing contemporary issues, fiction, travel, food and humour.
Arete is a online literary magazine edited by Craig Raine.
Army/Navy/Air Force/Marine Corps Times is useful if you are ex-American forces and your not going to reveal the pentagons battle plan.
Blackwriters are interested in Afro/African writing and their bulletin board posts calls for submissions. Brick Magazine is a literary journal aimed at both readers and writers. Published twice yearly.
By-Line is a useful monthly magazine for writers.
Cheeky Maggot Theatre is a young, vibrant company run by two female graduates from RADA. Their aim being to promote and produce innovative and fearless writing for the stage that is a break from the main stream. Giving the writer more say in how their work is produced and the actors a real chance to help with the fine tuning of a new script. Check out their site for more details.

ELit Agent Agency appears to encourage new authors, but they do charge for all their services
Dalkey Archive is a Non-profit website that challenges established literary journals.
Flame Books is an ethical publisher of contemporary fiction by new authors. We offer high royalties (by selling physical books solely online) and fair contracts to authors and also make a donation to various creative projects after every sale on the site. The shopping section will go live in the autumn, when we publish the first titles, and are currently looking for the most exciting new authors.
Fish publishing Fish Publishing is an independent publishing company, founded in 1994, which aims to enable talented new writers to have their work published in book format. Its annual Short Story Prize has become an established event on the literary calendar, and winners of the prize have gone on to publish many widely-acclaimed works.

January Magazine An online magazine bringing its readers interviews with authors from around the world.
Gothic A dark webzine featuring professionally written horror fiction, poetry, features, columns and reviews aimed at the Goth subculture. Editorials are frequently about publishing horror fiction, and it's one of the best paying markets on or off the internet for such fiction.
