This section is devoted to those who want to write for children.  This is a huge market, but it is not necessarily the easiest one.  Children can be very discerning about their reading, and publishers presume to know exactly what it is their little clients want.  Like the other 'Lit Links' pages, if the link is not here one of the resources below will defiantly have.  If you want to add some links, just click the ADD LINK button at the bottom of the page.

Blue Phantom Writer is a free Online critique groups for children's writers. The Blue Review Newsletter, with contests.

Children's Writing at Suite101.com  The definitive how to of children's writing. By Sue Reichard.

Canadian Children's Book Centre  A national, non-profit organization to promote and encourage the reading, writing and illustrating of Canadian children's books by supporting the Canadian children's publishing industry.

Canadian Society of Children's Authors, Illustrators, and Performers  another Canadian professional group for people in the field of children's culture.  Supports and promotes children's literature through newsletters, workshops, meetings and information programs.

Children's Literature Web Guide specializes in books for children and young adults and gives resources especially for writers, storytellers, illustrators, parents, and teachers.

Children's Publishers' Submission Guidelines Online focuses on the manuscript submission process.  Also has direct links to hundreds of children's publishers' submission guidelines, information about writing for children and how to get your book published.

Children's Literature Web  is not the same as above, only a similar title.  This site has information on the history of children's literature, writing and illustrating books for children

Children's Writing Resource Centre created by Children's Book Insider, is dedicated to providing a wealth of writing information for children's writers and illustrators.

Horn Book Incorperated is a reviews of children's books, articles and features interviews of authors and illustrators.

Inkspot for kids From one of the top writing sites on the net.  this children's part of their site has everything for writers and children readers themselves.

Institute of Children's Literature offers children's writing courses and other practical advice.

Inter-active-books.com a references for writers and illustrators of children's books, compiled by illustrator, author and web designer, Jim Witkins.

Jan Fields site will help you to learn the Nuts & Bolts of children's writing. Informational columns, checklists, quizzes, and book excerpts.

The children's Book Council is an absolutely must go to site for anyone interested in writing for children.  I couldn't do it the justice it deserves with just a short description.

The Purple Crayon is a children's book editor's site with links to resources of interest especially to writers, editors, teachers, parents, and librarians.

Raab Associates also features the "To Market" column for authors and illustrators as published in The Bulletin, the national publication of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators.

Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators is a Professional organization dedicated to serving the people who write, illustrate, or share a vital interest in children’s literature.

Verla Kay's Website is full of tips and links for children's writers. Authors talks. KidLit chat.

Young. UK Authors Part of the UK Authors sites so naturally it will be good.  This is a young writers' showcase and resource site.

Writing for kids from the Children's Book Insider, and provides a wealth of writing information for children's writers and illustrators.

Writing for Children is specifically for children's book writers, and those who dream of writing a book for kids.  Full of how to information and inside secrets presented by Children's Book Insider, the Newsletter for Children's Writers.

Vandergrift's Children's Literature Page This website is a means of sharing ideas and information with all those interested in literature for children and young adults.
